Huskies Proud To Support Breast Cancer Crusade

The Empire State Huskies are happy help the fight against Breast Cancer.  On September 21st , the Huskies held their Organization Wide Practice which brought together players and coaches from all the organization’s teams A portion of the proceeds from the sale of official Huskies apparel and accessories sold during the event will benefit the Breast Cancer Crusade.

The Empire State Huskies congratulate three of their 18U Gold players who were recently named Lo Hud's Con Ed Player of the Week.  Seniors, Cassidy Boyle (Hendrick Hudson) and Jen Gottfried (Mamaroneck), and junior, Diana King (Rye Neck) all received the prestigious honor for their achievements during the past academic year. The Con Edison Athlete of the Week recognition is awarded to thirty six student-athletes each school year in Westchester and Putnam Counties who demonstrate exceptional achievement in their sport while excelling academically. Recipients are also recognized for their outstanding leadership skills as well as their charitable involvement in school and community activities.

Boyle is preparing to start her senior season with the Hendrick Hudson Sailors before heading off to the University of South Florida to join the USF Bulls this fall. Five members of the Empire State Huskies Class of 2014 signed their College National Letters of Intent. Greta Bodine becomes a member of the Brigham Young University (Hawaii) Seasiders, Cassidy Boyle becomes a member of the University of South Florida Bulls, Dominique Bisaccia becomes a member of the Franklin Pierce University Ravens, Stephanie Scala becomes a member of the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles and Haley Vanvorst becomes a member of the SUNY Herkimer Generals. The Empire State Huskies congratulate the players and their families.

Huskies Proud To Support Food Bank For Westchester

The Empire State Huskies are proud to support The Food Bank For Westchester in their Fifth Annual Kids Helping Kids Campaign. The campaign was conducted in conjunction with the Organization Wide Practice held on April 7th which brought together players and coaches from all the organization’s teams to focus on developing player skills and promoting team bonding. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of official Huskies apparel and accessories sold during the event will benefit The Food Bank For Westchester. Players and coaches will also volunteer their time this summer to assist with the food bank's efforts at the Elmsford location. Past recipients of the Kids Helping Kids Campaign include Susan G. Komen Race for the CureMaria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center and Autism Speaks.

"The mission of the Food Bank for Westchester is to lead, engage and educate Westchester County in creating a hunger-free environment.The Food Bank for Westchester serves over 220 local hunger-relief programs throughout Westchester, including food pantries, soup kitchens, child and adult day-care centers, and shelters.The Food Bank provides 95% of all the food given to hungry families, children and seniors as cooked meals or groceries to take home" (foodbankforwestchester.org).
