Westchester Magazine has featured Empire State Huskies 18U Gold Player, Cassidy Boyle, in their April edition. Boyle is preparing to start her senior season with the Hendrick Hudson Sailors before heading off to the University of South Florida to join the USF Bulls this fall.

Three members of the Empire State Huskies Class of 2014 signed their College National Letters of Intent on December 1, 2013. Greta Bodine becomes a member of the Brigham Young University (Hawaii) Seasiders, Cassidy Boyle becomes a member of the University of South Florida Bulls, and Dominique Bisaccia becomes a member of the Franklin Pierce University Ravens. The Empire State Huskies congratulate the players and their families.

The Empire State Huskies are proud to support The Food Bank For Westchester in their Fifth Annual Kids Helping Kids Campaign. The campaign was conducted in conjunction with the Organization Wide Practice held on April 7th which brought together players and coaches from all the organization’s teams to focus on developing player skills and promoting team bonding. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of official Huskies apparel and accessories sold during the event will benefit The Food Bank For Westchester. Players and coaches will also volunteer their time this summer to assist with the food bank’s efforts at the Elmsford location. Past recipients of the Kids Helping Kids Campaign include Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center and Autism Speaks.
“The mission of the Food Bank for Westchester is to lead, engage and educate Westchester County in creating a hunger-free environment.The Food Bank for Westchester serves over 220 local hunger-relief programs throughout Westchester, including food pantries, soup kitchens, child and adult day-care centers, and shelters.The Food Bank provides 95% of all the food given to hungry families, children and seniors as cooked meals or groceries to take home” (foodbankforwestchester.org).

On January 4th, The Empire State Huskies were proud to host “The Road To Number One” with former Huskies player and honorary guest and speaker, Cassie Reilly-Boccia, University of Alabama First Baseman and 2012 NCAA National Champion. Reilly-Boccia captivated the audience recalling her most memorable moments of the Crimson Tide’s run for the 2012 SEC Championship and NCAA National Championship title this past June. The Huskies organization recognized Reilly-Boccia’s outstanding career accomplishments by retiring her Huskies number and presented her with an honorary jersey. Special guests also included Cassie’s family members as well as her former Huskies teammates and coaches (pictured above). Former Yorktown High School softball coaches, Becky Bronzi and Katie Sherwood also presented Reilly-Boccia with a plaque in recognition of her career accomplishments on behalf of the high school. Reilly-Boccia is currently attending graduate school at the University of Northern Iowa where she is studying for her master’s degree in Kinesiology.
